wX is an open-source, ad-free weather application licensed under the GNU GPLv3 license, designed for advanced users such as storm chasers, meteorologists, and weather enthusiasts. The app integrates data from the National Weather Service (NWS), optimized for mobile devices, and covers a broad range of divisions including SPC, WPC, NHC, and OPC, which are typically not combined in standard mobile weather apps. It offers detailed radar imagery, including Level 2 Nexrad data (single, dual, and quad pane), displayed via a mobile-optimized OpenGL interface.

It is important to note that wX operates independently and is not affiliated with NOAA or the NWS. The application provides more than just current conditions and a 7-day forecast; it encompasses extensive meteorological data suitable for professional analysis. Users should be aware that the interface prioritizes detailed information over aesthetic appeal and may involve a significant learning curve to utilize its full capabilities. • An optimized text product viewer for quick access to products like AFD and HWO from any NWS Weather Forecast Office.
• Various mosaic viewers for visible (VIS), infrared (IR), water vapor (WV), and radar imagery, including animation features.
• Widgets supporting real-time Nexrad radar, radar mosaics, visible imagery, and alerts like AFD/HWO updates.

The application requires Android version 4.1 or higher with at least 1GB of RAM (preferably more). Permissions needed include access to your location, network communication, and system tools necessary for startup alerts.
